About the Start-Up Centre
The cewas Start-Up Centre supports university graduates and young professionals to create their own business in the field of integrated (water) resource management and sustainable sanitation. It provides backup and coaching during the entire process from the development of a business idea through to the consolidation in the market. Each year, up to 16 young graduates and professionals (grouped in up to 4 to 6 Start-Ups) get the possibility to follow an intensive one-year Start-Up Programme, which comprises:
- Training and advanced education regarding technological (i.e. sustainable sanitation and water management) and business management issues (e.g. business development, planning and management, financial and legal aspects)
- Coaching by international experts (the cewas Think-Tank) in order to ensure suitable strategic and practical orientation of the business cases
- Teambuilding with the support of external consultants (participants that have shared or complementary interests team up in a Start-Up to develop a specific business case)
- Development of complementary skills (e.g. communication, practical experience in best practice model projects)
- Integration in the cewas network and support for consolidation in the market
- Infrastructure (office sharing community)
