IDEATION: IADB Hackathon 2020

The Inter-American Development Bank's Water and Sanitation Division initiated a technical cooperation with cewas and Young Water Solutions to support the identification of technologies and new innovative ideas that provide solutions to water and sanitation problems in informal settlements. One of the elements of the technical cooperation is the implementation of an e-Hackathon on water, sanitation and hygiene in informal settlements in Latin America with a total of 30 entrepreneurial teams. The E-Hackathon was conducted in Fall 2020 offering motivated young entrepreneurs a platform that allowed them to collaborate, develop ideas and design fresh business ideas that provide innovative solutions to the most urgent challenges in the provision of water, sanitation and hygiene in informal settlements.
