Availability and accessibility of financial resources, equity, and debt for new and growing Sustainable Sanitation and Water Management (SSWM) firms, including grants and subsidies is still very limited. However, financial capital is key, which should include a strong, dense, and supportive community of financing institutions and inidviduals. Forms of financing should be available, visible, and accessible, meeting the needs of impact-driven SSWM start-ups in the start-up, acceleration and scaling phase. cewas Middle East is developing a specialised matchmaking service for SSWM businesses and funders/investors to help identify, prioritize and access relevant financial support. At the same time, innovative financing tools and instruments for SSWM entrepreneurs are developed and tested with national and regional partners. One key goal is the establishment of a SSWM Cluster Fund.
