Building on the success of the first phase, the Water and Energy for Food 2.0 MENA programme marks the next chapter of the regional WE4F journey. After five years of supporting high impact enterprises and advancing climate smart solutions across the region, WE4F 2.0 will focus exclusively on innovators from the MENA region who are driving sustainable transformation at the intersection of water, energy, and food.
The programme is designed to scale solutions that strengthen climate resilience, improve resource efficiency, and create viable business models in fragile and water stressed contexts. Beyond enterprise support, WE4F 2.0 also aims to improve the enabling environment for innovation, contributing to stronger ecosystems and more sustainable market conditions.
A Regional Partnership for Systemic Impact
WE4F 2.0 MENA is a joint international initiative supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency Sida, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC.
The programme is implemented by a consortium led by Berytech, in partnership with Cewas and Chemonics Egypt. Together, the partners combine regional market knowledge, technical water expertise, and acceleration experience to unlock growth for climate smart enterprises.
Over the coming years, WE4F 2.0 MENA will support a portfolio of at least 120 high potential enterprises across the region. The programme will also explore the establishment of a multi facility regional impact fund to address persistent financing gaps faced by growth oriented SMEs and scale ups.
Our Role
Cewas brings its deep expertise in water and sanitation entrepreneurship, climate resilience, and impact driven acceleration to the consortium. In line with our belief that the water crisis is solved through better businesses, not more aid, we focus on strengthening viable enterprises that can scale sustainable solutions in complex markets.
